If you are new to drinking and eating fermented foods it is best to start in small amounts. You may eat and drink as much as you wish eventually. Always take one day off of consuming fermented food every 10 days or so to allow the body to work and build immunity on its own.
A good place to start is 2-4 oz. of the Kefir per day. This is for daily maintenance, and then working your way up to 1 cup daily. Depending on a person's size and use of probiotics will change the recommended amount. Children ages 6 months-13 years, we recommend 1-2 oz. per day of kefir for daily maintenance. Larger dosages (1-4 cups daily) can be useful for people whose ecosystems are adjusted to having probiotics, or if they have a illness or disease that needs more attention. Personally, I drink 8-16 oz. a day of our Kefir (4-8 oz. in the morning and 4-8 oz. before bed) Empty stomach is best!! Kefir is very cleansing/detoxifying and extremely beneficial to the health of the large intestine.
Kombucha Energy Tea
Fermented green tea does contain some caffeine that makes it more delicate for children. Kombucha is not for children under the age of 5 (From ages 5-15, 1-2 oz. a day is what we suggest.) For Adults we recommend 4 to 8 oz. per day of Kombucha. Just like Kefir, you can consume more Kombucha depending on needs and ability to adjust to probiotic consumption.
Cultured Veggies are design to be eaten during the day with food to help break it down and assimilate nutrients. 1-2 oz. with each meal is best!
